FAQs

We are happy to answer more questions, please fill out the form below or email us info@lioncamp.com

Is Lion Camp suitable for children?

Lion Camp is suitable for accompanied children aged 7+. If you plan to go on a walking safari the minimum age is 16. For couples travelling with a child who want to share, please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

What else is there to do at Lion Camp other than game viewing?

Lion Camp is a relaxed and friendly place to stay. In addition to the normal guided safari activities the lodge has a swimming pool, snooker/pool table, hand carved chess table, gift shop and well-stocked library for your use.

Is Lion Camp suitable if I have mobility problems?

There are no ramps at Lion Camp for wheelchairs, and while there are steps at the main entrance, once in the lodge it is mainly on one level. All of our game viewing vehicles have steps on the side. Our staff are happy to support guests who need assistance. Please contact us if you have any questions.

How many people can you accommodate, are there twin or double beds?

We have 10 suites so we can accommodate up to 20 guests. This enables us to offer all the luxuries of a 5 star retreat, yet still retain a feeling of intimacy. All our rooms have luxuriously draped mosquito nets, cooling units over the bed and comfortable day beds with luxury en suite bathrooms. Our rooms can be either twin or double, apart from our Lagoon Suite which has been designed with honeymooners in mind and has a fixed king size bed.

Can I upgrade from the standard room?

We have two Deluxe Suites. For a little extra you get an even more luxurious room and en-suite bathroom with a stunning outside bath, private dinners can be arranged and we can even organise a private vehicle to make your stay that bit more special. Perfect for Honeymooners. Please contact us with any questions.

Will I be able to charge my electrical equipment?

Our primary source of power is solar, and have a 220V inverter system, meaning you can charge equipment at your convenience in your room. The camp has global sockets that can be used for all 3 pin and 2 pin plugs, and we also provide USB sockets beside the beds. Guests travelling from the US will need to bring their own adaptor.

Are you able to cater for special dietary requirements?

Yes, our chefs are extremely adaptable, please inform us ahead of time of any specific dietary needs. We offer a set menu as is usual in most remote safari camps.
