MKASANGA CLINIC PROJECT – UPDATE

Another year and season has come and gone!  We have had an amazing season and feel privileged to have welcomed so many return guests to Lion Camp this year.  I am in the process of creating an updated newsletter of our past season but I want to take this opportunity to share an update on the Mkasanga Clinic Project.

This is a community project very close to our hearts as it is creating a critically required facility in a remote area where most of our staff is from.  During the rainy season, this community is totally cut off from the rest of the area with absolutely no access to medical facilities.  The financial contributions received from our guests have supported this project greatly and we sincerely thank you for assisting us in supporting this project. A further benefit for the community is that all the workers on this project are from the community.  No outside contractors (except for professional support) will be involved, thus creating job opportunities within the community.  Not only will they eventually have a much-needed medical facility, but also be able to take ownership of creating this for themselves.
