At last we can share our plans for the improvements at Lion Camp. We are staying true to our vision which is to provide exceptional and eco-friendly safaris at a reasonable price point.
The whole camp will be elevated as before, built with a sustainable decking timber. The rooms will be spaced further apart for more privacy, and will have canvas walls and a thatched roof. Evening Breeze cooling units will be installed over the beds for maximum comfort in the hotter months. These units, along with the rest of the camp, will be solar-powered. The bright acid colours of the soft furnishings will be replaced by a more muted colour palette.
We are on track to open on 25-May next year. Our 2018 rates will be released on 12-June, until this date any 2018 bookings will be accepted on 2017 rates.
With incredible game viewing literally on our doorstep, all the rooms have been designed to maximise the views.
During the day, the netting at the front of the room can be tied back to access a shaded private deck directly from the bedroom. Bathrooms will be off to the side to provide more privacy, whilst ensuring an unobstructed view out.
2 private suites will maximise the prime locations at the end of the camp. They are similar in design to the standard rooms but will be larger and will have secluded outdoor bathtubs.
The Sunset suite has been designed with families in mind and will be able to accommodate 2 adults + 2 children. The Lagoon suite will be more suited to honeymoon couples.
The heart of the camp is being updated too. The roof structures are being opened up to maximise the views. The swimming pool and bar will have extensive facelifts and the lower deck will be extended
