Lion Camp
The Team
Nathalie Boulle
“I have a deep reverence for Zambia, its people, and its wildlife. Lion Camp has been a catalyst for my worldwide conservation activities and has helped fulfil a lifelong ambition to conserve”. Nathalie is the driving force behind Lion Camp’s development as one of Africa’s top sustainable tourism destinations.
Lodge Managers
Wayne and Vicky have been working in the safari and tourism industry for 24 years. “An amazing journey working with beautiful boutique properties, meeting incredible people and having had the privilege of working in Africa with her people. Being part of their training and development and eventually managing Lion Camp is a dream come true. We have worked all over Africa and have always wanted to do a project in South Luangwa. So here we are. The setting is fantastic, and the lodge and area breathtaking.”
Reservationist
Dottie has been working in the tourism industry home and abroad. She decided to move to the Zambian bush and widen her experience working in the Lower Zambezi and now in South Luangwa National Parks for the last four years.
“Apart from experiencing the beautiful natural environment around me, my favourite part of the day is preparing myself to welcome new guests and to catch up with those returning from a day of activities because their excitement is wonderful to experience. I have always found that satisfied guests turn into friends. I am grateful to have many!”
Guiding Team
DONALD – As a student, I always had an interest in animal science and enjoyed regular school trips to the National Park. After school, I commenced working at a game lodge to enable me to commence a career in the hospitality industry as a guide. I worked and studied through the different levels of guiding and am now in the process of completing my final exam as a walking guide. I am excited about my opportunities as a member of the Lion Camp team, a well-known and very professional team within the South Luangwa National Park where I can excel and positively contribute to conservation and the guest experience.
INNOCENT – I started my guiding career 15 years ago at Lion Camp. I have done a full circle in the Luangwa National Park and surrounding parks in Zambia, working for several other operators during the past 15 years. Last year I was invited to assist at Lion Camp as a freelance guide and just loved what they have done with the new Lion Camp. When approached to join the team permanently, I was excited to return home and join this team of professionals, sharing my experiences and knowledge with Lion Camp guests.
MUKUPA – I started my working career as a teacher but eventually was drawn by the beauty of wildlife. I began at Tafika as a trainee guide in 2007. Since then, I have qualified as a walking guide and am passionate about the bush and sharing it with people.
SIMON – I have always enjoyed being in the bush and qualified as a driving guide in 2014. I am now working hard at becoming a Level 1 walking guide.
ROBERT – As a young boy, I joined the Wildlife School club, and my passion for wildlife interpretation and awareness was born. After school, I commenced my career in hospitality with basic duties at a lodge to enable me to eventually become a spotter on evening game drives. In 2016 I landed my first full-time guiding job and since then, I followed in my grandfather’s footsteps and pursued his mission as a conservationist and game ranger in South Luangwa National Park.
